May 2001 - Khajuraho's West Temples

Now surrounded by a park, these temples were lovely - probably more peaceful today than when they were being used.

Varaha Temple, dedicated to Vishnu's boar incarnation Big boar Maggie and the boar The temples in the Western group are fenced, and the Indian government has jacked up the price for foreigners to about $20.  For India, this is a startling sum, and as at Agra and Delhi, the Indians in the tourist trade hate it.
